Richard Skirvin

Richard Skirvin, Founder & President


After spending 5 years in the United States Navy from 1985 to 1990, Rich earned his Bachelor of Science  Degree from Southern Illinois University in Healthcare Management.   Prior to starting his own business in 2000, Rich  operated  many healthcare facilities including Nursing Homes and Assisted Living facilities, including his last position as Regional Vice-President of Operations of a Tennesse-based Long  Term Care company.   His healthcare experience in the senior community assists him with numerous retirement issues, including nursing home financial exposure and financial risk prevention.   Rich is also a member of the National Association of Professional Agents. When not at work,  Rich enjoys spending time with his wife Angela, 3 kids and 4 grandchildren

Jeff White

Jeff White, Regional Sales Director WV, VA, Southern OH


Jeff joined Skirvin & Associates, Inc. in 2011.  Jeff has worked in the insurance industry for over twenty five years. Jeff is not only a Regional Sales Manager with Skirvin & Associates, but is also the Director of Training. Jeff is passionate about equipping agents with the best training possible so they can not only be successful, but efficient. Outside of work, Jeff loves anything outdoors; hunting, riding in his RZR and getting muddy. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, SuEllen, their children, and grandchildren.

Michael Sherman

Michael Sherman, General Agent, District Sales Manager, Middle/Eastern Tennessee


In the business 23 years, Michael is an agent that cares about how his clients are served, and does all he can to meet each need.  When he is not helping his clients he enjoys spending time with his two beautiful grandchildren. He is also very active and enjoys tennis, golf, travel, wu-shu training, attending sporting events and Nolensville Road Baptist Church. When asked what he loves about serving others in the senior market his response was, "I feel an internal happiness when I help take a large financial risk and burden from my clients by setting them up with life/health insurance that meets their needs." 

Dan Kempton

Dan Kempton, General Agent, Regional Director of Field Training, Central TN


Dan is the father of three teenage boys. He has been licensed and worked in the insurance and financial services business since 1997.  He started in the financial world at age 16 under the tutelage of his father, and has had a passion for it ever since. He takes pride in helping new agents be successful and help our clients. He earned an MBA, and was inducted into "Delta Mu Delta, National Honor Society in Business Administration" for being in the top 5 percent of his graduating class.  Dan was an Eagle Scout.  He speaks French fluently and loves to travel, having visited several countries.  Dan also lived several years overseas including both France and Germany. In the U.S. he has lived in Hawaii, Utah, Colorado, and California, and currently calls Tennessee home. Among his hobbies are spending time with his children, and getting out on the golf course. 

Larry Anderson

Larry Anderson, General Agent Northern AL


Larry has been in the business for 40 years helping seniors prepare for their financial future. Married to his lovely wife Lynn they enjoy attending Rock Church, spending time with family, and Alabama football. Larry loves taking time to get to know his clients on a personal level and helps with whatever they may need.

David Worley

David Worley, General Agent Southern KY


In the business for 12 years, David is married with a child on the way and loves traveling and activities on the water.  David chose insurance as a career path because of the protection it brings to people in a time of need.   He believes helping people plan ahead lets people know that if something happens to them their family will be taken care of when their time comes. Life insurance is all about showing love to your loved ones after you're gone.  

Darlene Whitschey

Darlene Whitschey, General Agent, Northern Eastern KY, Southern OH, Western WV


Darlene is married to her high school sweetheart of 26 years and has two wonderful children. She loves spending time with her family and four fur babies.  Things Darlene and her family enjoy are being outdoors, riding ATVs, kayaking, and sitting around a fire.

Darlene says she loves selling insurance for a few reasons; to help people make the best decisions for themselves and their loved ones.  She also loves seeing God's country as she drives to appointments.  Darlene says each client she meets is a blessing.

Blake Skirvin

Blake Skirvin, General Agent Southern IN, Northern KY, Southern OH


Blake attended New Albany High School. After high school, he attended Ivy Tech Community College for business and marketing. After college, he joined the United States Marine Corps. He currently resides in Madison, Indiana. He is a member of the National Association of Professional Agents as well as a member of the Safe Money Places Agent Network. He is an active member of North Madison Christian Church. In his free time, he thoroughly enjoys spending time with his family and friends, as well as many outdoor sports such as snowboarding, golf, and basketball.

Gary Curtis

Gary Curtis, General Agent Western WV


In the business for 14 years Gary is a man of faith and family with a lovely wife and kids. When not helping others secure their future he loves collecting gospel music.  Gary believes selling insurance should be gratifying and rewarding to both the buyer and seller.  He also believes more often than not families enduring the loss of a loved one find final cost insurance to be a blessing in disguise. 

Barney Thorne

Barney Thorne, General Agent, Northwest KY


In the business for 51 years, Barney is a military veteran that takes personal pride in helping others.  Blessed to be a father of two beautiful daughters and grandfather of four, Barney enjoys family time as well as collecting record albums, CDs, cassettes, and DVD movies
